SPORTS 4 CHANGE:

OUR 6 PRIORITIES

We work to reduce the effects economic, social, or physical disadvantage for every member of the community, with a particular focus on supporting young people aged 4-24.

Sports 4 Change programmes draw people together, foster personal responsibility, cultivate respect for self and others.  Creating positive interventions to engage, inspire and support individuals to excel.

We use sport & physical activity to create opportunities for those who have experienced or been impacted by negative behaviours including criminality, exclusion, unemployment or poor physical and mental health to live healthier, happier and more successful lives.

SOCIAL
CONNECTION

Programmes in this area celebrate the innate social nature of people, support connection with family and friends but also, importantly, the wider neighbourhood and community are essential parts of what make us happy, healthy and human.

COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT

Our increasingly complex society makes community action to support vulnerable members more difficult – but also more vital. Stronger, capable communities can sustainably empower people over the longer term. Our programmes connect individuals, groups and sub-communities through the unifying power of sport.

MENTAL WELLBEING

Stress, low moods and anxiety make it difficult for people to effectively manage their lives. Mental strength and resilience create confidence, self-belief and a genuine sense of possibility.

EMPLOYABILITY

Low attainment and lack of employability skills can damage a person’s prospects for life. Finding work and gaining employment are instrumental to leading better, more satisfying lives. Our programmes focus on developing key skills, gaining qualifications and providing employment opportunities across the sector.

ENRICHMENT
FOR ALL

From young children to senior citizens… everybody lives happier and more fulfilling lives if their physical and mental wellbeing is supported. Our programmes offer opportunities and experiences that may seem out of reach!

PHYSICAL HEALTH

Poor physical health excludes people from sport and play – and creates the conditions for future chronic health conditions. Good physical health helps people participate fully in their own lives. Our programmes offer the platforms to improve and maintain health regardless of current activity levels, providing a pathway for you to reach your own goals.
